Bulk Image Downloader Extension Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Simple Metrics Ltd ("SimpleMetrics", "we") handles information when you use Bulk Image Downloader by SimpleMetrics, a Chrome extension that downloads images from a list of links, a CSV file or a web page. Our general privacy policy covers this website.

1. Summary

  • The extension runs entirely in your browser. Your lists, the pages you scan and the images you download are never sent to SimpleMetrics or anyone else.
  • We do not collect personal data. The extension has no account, analytics, tracking or advertising.
  • Images download directly from the websites that host them, through Chrome's own download manager.

2. What the extension handles and why

  • Lists you paste or upload: the image links, file names and other cells you paste, or the CSV file you choose, are read inside the extension's own page to build the download list. They are not saved and are gone when you close that tab.
  • Pages you scan (website content): only when you click "Scan this page", the extension reads the tab you have open to find image addresses, their sizes and alt text, and the page's address and title, which are used for folder and file names. It runs once, on that tab only, using Chrome's "activeTab" and "scripting" permissions.
  • Scan results: kept in Chrome's session storage so the results page can show them. Chrome clears them when you close the browser.
  • Downloads: the extension asks Chrome to download each image from its original website and save it in your Downloads folder. Those websites receive the same request your browser sends when you open an image yourself. Previews on the results page also load directly from those websites.
  • Download bubble: while a bulk download runs, the extension hides Chrome's download bubble so it does not open for every file, then turns it back on.
  • Clipboard: "Copy failed links" writes the failed links to your clipboard only when you click it. The extension never reads your clipboard.

3. What we do not do

  • We do not send any of the information above to our servers, and we do not store it anywhere.
  • We do not sell, rent or share data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
  • The extension does not load or run code from outside the extension.

4. Chrome Web Store User Data Policy

The use of information received by this extension will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Retention and deletion

  • We hold no data from the extension, so there is nothing for us to delete.
  • Scan results are cleared when you close Chrome or uninstall the extension.
  • Downloaded images stay in your Downloads folder until you delete them.
