How much does AI for Sheets cost?
Free includes 30 usages per month. Pro is $15 per month for 10,000 usages, Plus is $55 per month for 50,000 usages, and Ultra is $95 per month for 100,000 usages. See Pricing for what each paid plan includes.
Is there a free tier available?
Yes, we offer a free tier that allows up to 30 usages per month. This tier is a good fit for individuals or small teams getting started.
What counts as one usage?
One usage is one credit deducted for a successful AI request. Most standard text formulas use 1 credit; more compute-intensive requests may use more. Failed requests are not counted.
What happens when I run out of usages?
Further AI calls stop and the cells show a usage limit message. Upgrade your plan to continue now, or wait for your usage to reset at the start of the next billing cycle.
How do I upgrade, change or cancel my plan?
Use the customer portal. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades take effect from the next billing cycle. You can cancel anytime there.
Can we bulk purchase usage credits?
Yes, please contact us for a custom plan.
What happens if I paid twice accidentally?
Please contact us and we will issue a refund.
Are free trials available for educational purposes?
Free trials are available upon request for educational purposes. Please contact us to discuss eligibility and setup.
Setup and troubleshooting
Is an API key required to use the product?
No API key is required to use our product. Simply use =GEN() in Google Sheets to access the features.
I keep seeing "Please click 🚀 Use AI Formulas in the menu to start" even after clicking. How to fix it?
First, make sure you opened Extensions → AI for Sheets → Use AI Formulas at least once. Then check if you are the owner of the current Google Sheet. You need to be the owner of the sheet (not a Shared Drive file) to use this add-on. Create a new sheet or make a copy of the sheet and try again. See Common setup issues or email [email protected].
How to fix the "API Key is not set" error message?
Our product does not require an API key. This error message is usually from other add-ons that you have installed. Remove other add-ons in your Google Sheets to resolve this issue.
Why do I keep seeing the "Exceeded maximum execution time" error message?
This error occurs when the AI response takes too long. To avoid it, add a length limit such as "Keep the response under 100 words." You can also turn Smarter off in Custom instruction and cache.
Why do I see a "daily limit reached" error?
This is usually Google's daily Apps Script quota, not your AI for Sheets usage. It resets within 24 hours. To use less of it, save finished results as values. See Google Sheets daily limit.
I want to pay but I got stuck on the "Subscribe" button showing loading.
If the "Subscribe" button is stuck on loading, please allow pop-ups from https://docs.google.com/ in Chrome's settings under Privacy and Security > Site Settings > Pop-ups and Redirects. You can find our step-by-step guide here.
How can I avoid unnecessary usage of credits due to Google Sheets' auto-refresh feature?
To prevent unnecessary usage due to refresh or recalculation, use Save formula output. It converts AI formulas into static values so they do not re-run.

Will my data be used by Google for training purposes?
Your data will NOT be used by Google for training or any other purposes.
Can AI for Sheets summarize my Gmail in Google Sheets?
Due to privacy restrictions, our add-on cannot directly access your Gmail. However, you can manually copy the email content into Google Sheets.
